重逢

It's a good time for me to post some updates: Yes i fallen very sick...in the month of March again. Guessed month of march has always been very unlucky for me as for the past 7-8 years, I have always fallen very sick, by similar causes, and i always ended up making big scenes from the illnesses, unintentionally....

I have been trying to do some work at home during my rest periods, be it school work or office work, but the medicine is reali making me totally washed out...causing me to sleep for more than 12 - 15 hrs a day. Perhaps this relatively brainless job I'm doing right here, right now is more manageable by myself, for this moment.

Recall:

the 1st case was back in 2002. sometime in mid march, when i was still in the army.

Culprit: Char Siew Mee from Bedok Camp 2 canteen
Within 3 hours, the symptoms came, i was lying on my bed in camp, still recalled was on level 4 at HQ7SIB block. I din go for lunch as i told my buddies i wasn't feeling well and I continued to rest on my bed. Soon, My head started to spin, and i began to perspire heavily. my mind told myself i had to get up and call for help as my bunk was empty, however my body juz doesn't seem to respond. my body started to numb and i began to hyperventilate -- new term learnt from the incident. Until one of my PS (Ah Tham) happen to walk past my bunk. My mind was still alert. I tried to muffle to catch his notice. luckily he did. he tapped me but there wasn't much response. Immediately he called for help and the camp MO came with a group of medics (i tink). If i din remember wrongly, i was given drip immediately, and this one i was very sure, he instructed to send me to hospital. Imagine i got to be evacuated from level 4 to level 1 on a stretcher, and that the stretcher could not fit into a lift. My eyes were closed then, but i could still roughly recall the 4 people + 1 holding on to the drip whom evacuated me to level 1 on the stretcher by climbing down the stairs. i tink was Ah Lau, Raymond and Kenny plus some medics...dat was my 1st encounter at A&E....at CGH. My impression of A&E at CGH is quite good though, in terms of their services and professionalism... but not as though i want to be there always...though i was discharged from hospital on the same day, my sis brought me to Dr Quek aka my family doc whom my family have patronized since 1995; who gave me multiple jabs + medicine with 7 days of MC in total..

2nd case: Mar 25 2005
Culprit: Mac Spicy Double meal upsize from Beauty World Mac

Yes i do remember this date very clearly. It was a sunday and i taken the burger juz before i started my tutoring lesson. Similar symptoms came, with exceptions that it cames with gastric pain as well. within 5 hrs, i finished my tuition, then went suntec to meet my sis, then complained about my discomfort then she sent me back, after which i told her that i was reali unwell then she sent me to this shit doc at Blk 692 JW 24 hr clinic i tink. I collapsed at the clinic while waiting for the doc. then the nurses + doc then frantically attended to me (according to my sisters). the doc got so panicky when he tried to drip me but was only successful after the floor ended up in a pool of blood, and he called got his nurses to call the ambulance. this time rd i ended up at NUH A&E. It was a TERRIBLE experience there as the services provided was horrible. I tink i waited in agony for a period which i felt was like hours. Dr Quek came after my sis called him and it ended up in a lecturing session he gave to the young A&E docs who gave the wrong diagnosis. after which i was sent to his clinic again for the jabs and medicine which again, i got ard 1 week in total.

I got 1 other similar attack in 2007, which after being so seasoned to the symptoms, i managed to survive thru without much hoo ha.

but last sunday i wasn't so lucky:

date: 8 Mar
Culprit: Roast duck stall at JW , prime suspect, the sweet sauce or chilli sauce.
the lunch was taken ard 2pm+ after which i went swimming with KC. Felt very weak after the swim, initially thought i became so unfit juz because i have not exercised since my ippt in feb 09 during my in camp. but the giddy spells seemed to get worse, and i decided to head home after dessert with KC. Just before the turn into my flat, my intuition told me that i shld head for Dr Quek's clinic, which i believed was the right choice. i struggled to drive to his clinic, though was only a short journey of less than 2 km. while waiting for my turn to see him, i MERLIONED, and the amt was confirmed to be more than wat PEAR had thrown up on his birthday celebration last year . I seemed to have created a big hoo ha at the clinic at that instant, with other patients coming to help me up and give me tissue papers....lol..the doc commented that that was almost equivalent to around 2 kg of pukes....yucks...

seems so coincidental that all these happened in Mar right???

the same illness seemed to 重逢 at the same time of the years. lucky i was seasoned to the symptoms and i seemed to be recovering well as i knew the right things to do....

Anyway last month i reali watched a concert called 重逢 after the birthday celebration of my dearest XY.

木吉他合唱团 - i reali dun belong to the right generation as i reali do not know their songs...so quite a boring segment.

姜鄠 - his segment was disappointing. he went off tune quite a few times (pretty obvious) in his singing. and seeked for the audiences forgiveness by claiming that he has not been singing for many years....lol. he also din sing his best and most famous song 恋之憩, but 萍水相逢 brings back some good old memories of the 1980s though.

曾淑勤 - claimed to be sick, and i believed it was true from her voice that day. heard the almost forgotten 茉莉花的日子

洪劭轩 + 苏心荃 - a pretty powerful combination, esp 苏 , who still have such a powerful and nice voice even though the last time i reali remembered hearing him sing was back in 1991 when he took part in 斗歌竞艺 and i recalled singing him in SGH once before as he was a doc there i tink some time in 1999 when my mum was sick and warded there. his voice was comparable to 林志炫 in my opinion. 洪's segment was slightly disappointing as again, he did not sing his best and my fav songs of his...:p.

南方二重唱 - indisputably the best female voices of the evening.

弹唱人 ACAPELLA - i have no idea who they were initially, but their performances was full of surprises + entertaining and they sang well! esp when they imitated Thai accent English...lol

黄韵玲 - talented musician, and was quite surprised that she could sing pretty well though.

许美静 - flop start with lots of off tune notes when she started singing her 1st song, but she ended it well i tink, probably after she warmed up.
