Juliet Bravo
Was shocked to hear/read outragous stories of "robbery incidents" in Juliet Bravo.
This story was heard from WK. heard that it was being featured on the news.
- Many novel and creative ways of robbery techniques have been developed by the robbers there. the newest, and the most shocking way i heard was that the robber will come to you, gripping you and saying,"the syringe I'm holding now contains HIV. gimme your money or i'll poke you with the needle"
I heard this story from CHui today over msn, when he went there this morning at the "Gentle buddha" customs:
- (officer holding on to CHui's passport) ,"tmr i'll be on leave and i'll be going to SG to buy apples, can I exchange $20 from you? (he gave 20 bucks of his currency in an attempt to exchange $20 of SG currency)." CHui got no choice but to abide.......
Read this article from the "Night" papers (chinese) about theft of SG cars in "Gentle Buddha"
- recorded highest SG cars theft rate (52/70 out of all SG cars stolen in Gentle Buddha motherland) in "Gentle Buddha"
- the fav targets of the thieves in order (if i have translated correctly): 1. Rav4 2. Harrier 3. Unser 4. Lexus RX 5. Honda CRV 6. Mercedes E series
- it juz takes 10 mins to unlock the car using a "multi purpose key", start engine using a screwdriver and drive off the stolen vehicle
- even though nowadays many cars are equipped wif "anti-theft" system (a lousy translation from 防盗系统)it does not deter thefts, cos now some robbers will juz simply stop the vehicle with the passengers and driver, and used guns in the robbery!!
wah it seems that it's so dangerous going there nowadays, but how? i go there almost once every few mths to top up my contact lenses and solution cos it's 100% cheaper than the prices here. well...juz dun drive in and juz gotta be more careful not to look rich and attract attention...lol....if i'm still so suay, then it's fate.
