Weekend Activity - Jul - Aug 09
I've more or less recovered from the illness bothering me few months back, just waiting for the residual symptoms to go off completely in the mean time.
Anyway, what has been occupying me for the past few saturday mornings is something new to me though. Yes....i am in the company Dragon Boat Team...sounds so ironical though....cos back in my uni days i used to have 'not so good' impression of the sport and dragon boaters, not becos i bear personal grudges against them, but it was some people in campus who just like to compare so much about the softball team to his dragon boat team, and frequently boasting how great the sport and his dragon boaters were. back then at YIH study room, there's also this particular spot/ seats/ tables which majority of the dragon boaters like to hog to. they would like to make themselves so prominent by ensuring that they wear their same dragon boat Team NUS jacket everyday.
anyway dat was in the past which dun reali bother me much.
recently i picked up this new sport with many fellow colleagues, trust me, most of us are completely new to the sport, including myself. and the team is really an interesting mix, with the 高矮肥瘦, and 男女老幼 combination. but boils down, it's another team sport, and also a physically demanding one. i do enjoy it though.
cos it's at kallang also, every week driving thru the familiar stretch of road to reach the water sports centre which pass by the kallang softball diamond brings back memories of my days back in the NUS softball team. somehow i will have the tendency to take a second look at the diamond each time i drive pass that area, trying to see which team is having training or matches there, and also trying to look for any familiar faces whom i know. maybe that's juz a side of me which tells me that i still misses the sport and the various kakis i've played the sport with for 10 over years i've spent playing the game competitively from secondary school, JC to Uni.
wanted to meet my sis/niece today becos i've not seen for more than a month already. but the reply received reali turned me off totally. it goes like this:
sometime around late noon:
"(my niece) is sleeping and (my sis) is too lazy to meet."
well, it takes 2 hands to clap. any form of relationship, be it friendship, relationship, kinship; its my belief that both parties need to put in their minimum effort to sustain the relationship. if everyone is ALWAYS lazy in their attitude towards their friends and loved ones, it simply shows how much they value your presence.
i reciprocated by simply can't be bothered to even want to fabricate an sms reply which is FOC.
it's a shame-----in my opinion....i condone, but obviously i dun agree with such behavior......
People should learn to give and take, not juz willingly or passively take , but lazy to give
Anyway put this aside.
i realised that i actually like this song alot, only after i started to include in my retro collection cd which i listened to in my car journeys.
