NO MORE GREEN FOR 2010

The most siong ICT up to date is finally over...

Stage 1 evaluation is tiring, and definitely physically and mentally challenging for ageing NSmen like us.

The whole company did well, as in achieved REDCON 1. My team surprisingly, achieved the best score within the platoon.

To me the result doesn't really matter. even though i am now badly "bruised" by:

1. mosquito bites at Lor Asrama and PLC,
2. rashes from the outfield training,
3. blue black bruises from all the proning and high kneeling in the vegetations in full battle order,
4. cold virus from the heat and drenching in the heavy rain;

these 'sufferings' eventually had a positive outcome to bond the 'band of brothers' closer together.

i recalled i overhead a conversation between the OC NSBRC and some of our guys regarding NSmen mentality and he quoted a statement from someone which i am not sure is it CGO or Brigade commander and somewhat i find it makes sense - it goes something like this:

"if on the first day of in-processing, you see the NSmen coming back without wanting to defer, these are the people who have gone through pains to plan their work schedule to accomodate the ICT. if they are willing to do that, you can be sure that they are going to commit in the ICT. u dun look at NSmen always so slack and always complaining that they dun wanna do this or dat or now they are all so unfit, during real training and assessment, how many people do you really see actually fall out from the mission or training? it's hardly any."

- well for that statement, i do find that it's somewhat true, but of course i have to agree that there are still some black horses around....

Next year's ICT is set from 7 - 18 Mar 2011 - - live firing and underslung sia.....

Putting the GREEN STUFF aside, it's time to tune my mind back to work on monday....
