3 weeks have passed

Time at office with the students around seemed to 'fly', and 3 weeks had already passed, without me realising it. I'm pretty thankful that my students are generally well behaved so far, giving me little disciplinary problems. So i could fully concentrate on teaching and doing lesson preparations. Last nite I finally decided to give myself a breather to go for a sumptuous buffet at the Sakura outlet opposite my former school, the "World Class University" :s. The meal made me sooooo full that it made me even more sleepy on my way home, and once i reached home, i headed straight to bed immediately my shower. My job has indeed drained much of my energy away everyday......but i'm enjoying what i'm doing, even though the path is; expectedly not smooth due to the steep learning curve i need to follow. But looking at it from a different perspective, I'm glad that I am FORCED to improve on myself so that i can meet the standards that i set for myself, and my students. Things would have been so much more different if i had decided to teach in a secondary school. Nonetheless, I'm happy that my decision to stay in my present job had further enriched me both intellectually, and emotionally.

One incident that Struck me today was during my inspection of the pantry when my students were tasked to perform their routine duty today. There were some food particles on the floor, which the students were expected to clear them. One of my student picked up the litter, as a form of duty, and he made a comment:

"我在家里从来没碰过扫把" meaning that he had never touched a broom before at home.

I told him straightaway:

"it means that you are too pampered, you say that to your sergeant when u enter the army, and he'll make sure that the broom become your best friend"

最不想发生的事还是发生了

This week had been an extremely fast and busy week. From Monday to Friday, every night, i gotta bring my work home to prepare for my next day practical sessions. It's kinda tough now, but i'm glad that i'm enjoying my work so far though. The working days of this week is ended with an international buffet session followed by KTV wif my army buddiez. This time round, it's dining at Vienna Restaurant. The quality of food is pretty good, of course, the price to pay was high though....As usual, the food that i will always whack 1st is Seafood (above).

The main purpose of friday's gathering was to celebrate Ah Beng's birthday, who will be turning 25 on 19th. Me and Alex were tasked to take revenge for HY, who was made drunk by Beng on his birthday 1 month ago. HY got so drunk that he puked through 3 drains..From one to another after he dirtied each drain wif his 'essence' of Chivas, Vodka and Tiger. As promised, we did not let him off...hahahaha....and he was 'drowned' by us with Martell and Tiger....Of course, during the process, some of us were injured' and got 'high' as well. Luckily I was able to keep my composure not to collapse....ahahahha.

The birthday boy still not forgetting to display a cool image despite his head had started spinning

Anyway, weather these few days had been pretty terrible and my biggest fear had happened.....I'm beginning to kena the symptoms of cold and flu.......Today, i kena the 1st symptom, which was sore throat and sinus.......and i'm feeling extremely lethargic thruout the day........I suspect i got the virus from the rain from the past few days......juz gotta blame myself for having such a weak body.....so prone to 'nose related diseases'.......Now i'm whacking Strepsils to prevent myself from losing my voice....My job does not allow me to lose my voice cos i need shout whole day long.....Especially when i conduct practical sessions and tutorials.......

Now it's time to continue to prepare for my lessons for next week......

Before I go, I take this opportunity to introduce this nice song, which was sang by Leon Lai...One of the 4 Heavenly Kings of Hong Kong Entertainment scene during the late 80's and early 90s, the other 3 being Andy Lau, Aaron Kwok and Jacky Cheung. This song was published in the early 90s if i'm not mistaken, and I was still in primary sch then....

25 Seasons

Time really flies and 6 Seasons had reached its 1st birthday few days ago. As for me, I'll soon going to be someone who has lived 25 seasons on this little red dot near the equator. I've enjoyed myself over the past few days, happily immersing myself in the love from my beloved family and friends.

This first gift is something i considered very special, not because it's something very valuable and expensive. But considering it had gone through the air spaces of Bangkok to Malaysia and finally to my home. Thank you so much for your distant greetings and I truly appreciate the thoughts and this little gift :)

This 2nd shot was taken on 2nd Sept, at Teo Heng KTV at Katong. Yes, this is the special KTV which customers are allowed to order and eat CURRY FISH HEAD while singing at the same time. My eldest sister and bf decided to celebrate mine and my 2nd sister's birthday together since our birthdays are only 6 days apart. Before that we had an excellent high tea buffet at Merchant Court, and we were so full that we do not even have the appetite to eat dinner at 10+.

This gift was given by 8 of my secondary school mates. Really appreciate their gift and their thoughts to meet up for a meal together and also providing me the companionship before my 25th birthday. I would say that it is not easy to maintain a friendship for more than 10 years, so i reali treasure my friendship with this group of friends :)

Had an excellent, cheap and filling dinner with my army buddiez b4 i posted this entry. After I bid goodbye with my secondary school mates earlier on. Was extremely touched that this grp of buddiez are willing to sacrifice their time to travel from Hougang, Geylang or Yishun all the way to Jurong to meet up with me for a simple dinner; Of course not forgetting the great food we had here. 2 plates of sting ray, 1 plate of sotong, 1 plate of satay, 2 plates of vege, 1 big plate of fruits, and 1 big plate of roast duck and pork, all for only $62! We had promised to meet up on 15th to 'pamper' our buddy "ah beng" with Chivas, Vodka, or even Graveyard, who will be turning 25 on 19th oso.....

Enuff of my fun these few days. Work has been challenging since my students arrived on the 4th cos of the lesson preparation work. I believe none of my students is unteachable and I'm enjoying wat i'm doing so far cos I've always loved teaching. Hopefully my remaining 5 weeks with my class will be memorable and pleasant memories of my lifetime.

45 more minutes and i'll turn 25! I hope to stay 25 forever...hahahahaha
